November 1996: The hood, bumper, and grill
(with radiator)
were removed. The only real problem encountered was where
a previous owner had brazed the top fender to grill seam. This
was removed by using a hacksaw to cut a groove in the brazing. A
cold chisel was then used to split the weakened seam. |

April 12, 1997:Removed the bed. I left the rear fenders
attached to the bed because the attaching bolts/nuts were
frozen and I wanted to salvage the bolts if possible. The bolts
have an extra large head and availability for new ones is low. |

May 13, 1997:The rear fenders were removed from the bed.
This took a while due to attempting to salvage the attaching
bolts. The effort paid off. Most of the nuts were cut off of
the bolts using a cut-off wheel on an old Dremel tool that I've
had for years. It was slow going but worth it. |
